Can't verify email address.
My brother is trying to verify his email address. When the email is sent, he clicks on the link, and it opens up a new tab on the browser, however it says "Invalid URL". We can't verify his email address, and now he can't purchase games.

Something went wrong while displaying this content. Refresh

Did you try copy and pasting the URL instead? Just in case it's his browser stoping it from opening as a security setting.

Yes, I did. Still no luck.

Here is a workaround.

1. Go into your steam settings and change contact email address to another address you control.

2. They will send a confirmation code to the new address and you just input that into the pop-up box.

3. Repeat step one and two but with your original email address (if you want to, if you're fine with the other address then just leave it alone, its already verified from the confirm code)

4. Viola!! Email address confirmed with having to try to use a broken link.

After years this is the only solution? Congratulation to the steam support....
