Walking Dead 400 Days not downloading?

I got the Walking Dead Telltale a few days back at the Store and I'm getting the 400 Days DLC through Steam now but it says I need the first part of the game to play, but I do gave it. I linked the original game to Steam but it still says I need the game. Do I need to re-buy the game on Steam just so I can get 400 Days DLC? PLEASE HELP!

What is the exact message you're getting? There is a warning in a purple box on the store page that just tells you that you need the base game to play it, this is normal.

Yeah you need to own Game. THE WALKING DEAD SEASON-1. 400days is a continuation of the story. if you already own them, Delete local content and download the game first , then 400 days. You will also have to finish the game , the dlc is at the end of episode#5

Yes I have The Telltale Walking Dead season 1 that I got retail. I'm trying to link it to Steam with the product code on the receipt but its not letting me. Here is the pop-up: Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy 'The Walking Dead: 400 Days' which requires ownership of 'The Walking Dead'. Please correct the error and try again.

Fairly sure you can't activate the retail version on Steam directly, you need to contact Telltale support and I believe they will give you a Steam key if you show the receipt.
