If you took the screenshot using Steam, then they are also on your computer already.

Go to the View menu, then Screenshots

Find Proteus in the list of games to see the screenshots.

Select one of them and hit "Show On Disk". It will open up a Windows Explorer window where those are stored. You can copy the files and paste them somewhere else for easier access.

If you can't figure that out you could always take a screen shot of your computer and crop it.

Even an entire 6 years later, this is STILL helpful. Thank you gamer.

I encountered this problem, so I decided to build a tool that scrapes your profile and hands it to you the URLs for every public screenshot you have: https://steamblower.herokuapp.com/

Its working June/2020 and you dont have to give any personal info or download anything.

Hope it helps!

"Go to the View menu, then Screenshots"

this direction is OBVIOUS to everyone, and the op KNOWS what he's talking about as he IS knowledgeable, but... I've been looking for the "view menu" and could not find it. I mean... it's so obvious, "you just got to the view menu then screenshots whats so difficult about that?"... as long as you posses the same computer intellect as the op... I do not. Le' Fat Cat's screen shot option i can do as i posses the "screenshot" intellect, just not the 'view menu' intellect. but I'd rather have the picture in it's original format, not a screenshot of it... 1st world problems =P

For screenshots that seem no longer stored locally, e.g. after switching to a new computer, I use the following on my Windows 10 PC with Google Chrome:

1. Use internet browser to go to steampowered.com and login to steam account

2. On the top line "STEAM STORE COMMUNITY <<ACCOUNT NAME>> CHAT SUPPORT" hoover the mouse over the account name and select "Content"; this opens a new page with the "Screenshot" tab selected

3. Click the thumbnail of the screenshot you would like to download; this opens a new window with a larger version of the screenshot on the left and some options on the right (thumbs up, thumbs down, add comment, view comments and details, ...).

4. Right click the screenshot in that window and select "Save link as..." to save the screenshot in full resolution.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
