TV doesnt appear in Big Picture mode settings
Right now I have a 22" monitor and a 32" TV connected to my PC. In order to get big picture to work on my TV is to press Windows + P and change the primary display to my TV, then run Big Picture. I noticed though in the Big Picture settings you can change the display there however, my TV does not appear in there. Is there anyway to force detect my TV?

Also I have had to adjust my TVs resolution through the Nvidia settings... stupid 1080i TV :(

I'm not sure I'm understanding what issue your having but here's how I do it.

Nvidia control panel > setup multiple displays

Select both your monitor and TV > right click and choose clone primary and you'll see the same image on both screens.

The only issue you'll have is the difference in resolutions between TV and monitor but depending how far off they are that can be fixed too

Basically I want my TV to appear in Big Pictures display settings, so when I enable Big Picture it switches displays.

My workaround at the moment is to disable my PCs monitor and enable my TV as the primary device. Then enable Big Picture mode.

I checked the nvidia settings to see about cloning the screens. There was no option. I do however have my pc display settings set to extend, through windows, not nvidia

It looks like the ability to switch displays in Big Picture doesn't work. I have a 3 monitor setup and a TV. None of them show up in Big Picture settings.

The clone option should be under step 2 of the "setup multiple displays" in the Nvidia control panel. You should see your monitor and TV. Right click monitor, choose clone and set monitor as primary clone source.

Saves you a few steps from what you're doing now. Extended is turning your TV into an extension of your monitor screen. Great for placing multiple windows and apllications but won't work with Big Picture.

Extending your display to your TV will work with Big Picture, however it automatically sets it to the primary display, even after exiting Big Picture. I'm able to display Big picture there and everything shows up on Big Picture settings. Does Windows see your extended display in properties? Also is your TV on when you try to use Big Picture (I assume it is but I find it best to ask.)

Extending my display doesnt allow big picture to display on my TV. I have to set it to "projector only". Nvidia display settings and windows settings show my TV, just not big picture settings :( Yeah, I have my TV turned on when Im trying out big picture.

Gonna see if the TV displays in the settings when I have it set to projector only

My TV is listed under Generic PnP Monitor.. aswell as two others. It took me a while to figure out which monitor my TV was.

Im not sure if mine is displaying 1 or 2. The one highlighted is Generic PnP Monitor and the one in the dropbox is also Generic PnP Monitor. Both stick to the monitor rather than the TV. My nvidia/windows settings show SONY TV though :(

Holy crap I got it to work however, its told Windows that my TV is my primary monitor, so its moved my desktop to the TV :( Guess Ill stick to "projector only" until they fix that

Switching to clone seems to do the job better however, Steam crashes when I run it back into desktop mode. Can't catch a break :(
