have more than 600 hours...still no cards. HELP
Hello i have logged more tha 600 hours playing civ V and still havent gotten a single card drop. On the other hand my friend who bought the game 3 weeks ago and has less than 100 has managed to get 3 already. I have been a member for 2 years and have quite a few other games that use cards and have logged quite the amount of time on them too but have never gotten a steam card. The only time i ever got one was when i purchased enough on this year's (2013) summer sale. Is there any way that i can get card from my other games? I dont exactly understand what i am doing wrong if anything. Any help would be appreicated =/

The system isn't retroactive. You have to play the game after the cards were added in order to earn them.

i still play the game all the time and still do not recieve cards. i still manage about 3 hours a week. how long does it usually take. I dont know because i have never gotten a single card from playing a game from my two years on steam.

This steam trading card thing has just recently occured. Hover over your name at the top in steam and click on badges and see if you are still eligible for card drops in that game. Usually you get all the cards your eligible to get (for simply buying the game anyway) with your first 3-6 hours of playing the game (after the steam card drop system). After that you, uh... I don't remember how to get more card drops

EDIT: Nacimota do you know how to get more card drops?

According to your steam profile, you haven't played Civ 5 since last Friday, the same day cards were added for it.

Technically it's been around for maybe a month but that was the beta, the only people who participated during that event were people who were given access by their friends or just simply went to the steam trading card website.

The system has been around for a while but they add cards for new games periodically.

ok so if i play for like 10 more hours i should at least get one card?
Nacimota Jul 17, 2013 @ 10:22pm
Yes. It varies from game to game but usually I only have to play for around 2-3 hours to get all the cards for a particular game.

It depends but they drop at a rate of 1 card drop every 30-60 minutes.

Saturo, we meet again.
I notice that you are Level4 hcambel. Increasing your level increases the percentage drop rate for receiving booster packs. Here is the relevant section directly from the Steam help FAQ. You can find it by clicking Help>Steam Support and typing "Steam Trading Cards" in the search field.

How can I get a booster pack?
Once you have received all of your card drops, you become eligible for a booster pack, which is a set of 3 trading cards that may include both basic and foil cards. Booster packs are granted randomly to eligible users as more badges are crafted by members of the community. Make sure you log in to Steam each week to maintain eligibility.

Once eligible, your Steam Level increases your rate of receiving a booster pack drop:
Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)
Etc.
