Purchasing from military AP/AE addresses (Fix)

Ok, I tried to purchase games while being stationed in an APO address. Steam tells users to use CA for AP and New York for AE but this didn't work for me as well as others. Below is the link that Steam told me to use for all military addresses purchases.

Bookmark it while you are away from the states. The issue they say is that the IP address differs from your billing information, which means that my IP is not a US. Hope this helps others.

I wish I had seen this a few weeks ago. I searched for a whole day and didn't get my reply from Steam until after the sale was over. Glad it was only a short time before the Summer Sales. Good info.

I just tried this, and it doesn't work.. First experience with Steam is Terrible... Good work..... Thanks for the link VyRuZ, and hopefully Steam will pull their head out of their outdated Butt, and add AE AP and AA to the drop down, since it is 2014 and not 1950 anymore... I can not believe this software is "The way to go" when these idiots can't update that simple crap.

When i deployed i didnt change mine and it worked fine but other people who opened new steam accounts had problems so i ended up buying games for them and gifting it

This is really anoyying, Im currently in Japan and i want to buy CS:GO, and its not working.. steam please add ap and ae to your list PLEASE!

Anyone found a fix for this? I too would really like to purchase some games from Steam while in Korea and I cannot use Paypal for the purchase because Steam wants me to check a block that states the address I live at is in South Korea. While that statement is indeed true, my bank accounts statements are sent to a USA address.

Also, it seems the work around in getting Steam to allow my purchase is in not having to select that I live in Korea. Why not remove that device totally? This would then allow military service members, DoD civilians and contractors that are not foreign nationals of said country to make their purchases. Afterall, their bank accounts will more than likely be tied to a US bank account.

Bueller, Bueller......really hoping Steam would come on here. Skeered, I know...

if my instructions do not work any longer then contact steam like I did. that's how I got the fix in the first place.

I went without using Paypal and just use my debit card on the Steam site. I don't feel as comfortable doing it that way, but what the heck. I'm only over here for 2 years.
