Does buying Civilization V [Base Game] and Brave New World include other expansions?
Pretty clear as the title goes, according to Wikipedia Brave New World consists of all other expansions when purchased but Steam requires the base game to download and play Brave New World so I'm here getting a little bit confused.

I hope someone can answer me this. Its my first time trying to buy something on Steam.

Thanks in advance

No, it doesn't come with all the Civ 5 expansions/DLC.

What the wiki page says is that Brave New World contains and expands upon the new gameplay mechanics that were introduced in the previous expansion, Gods And Kings. Not the content itself.

However, I've heard from nerds who's opinions I trust that Brave New World is the better expansion pack. So you're not really missing anything.

OK! Thanks very much. I'm not English-speaker so these kinds of DLC really confuses me a lot.

I just want to enjoy as many nations as possible even if it means buying older expansions. Can you recommend/suggest which expansions I might have to buy to get ALL the nations available for Civ V?

Thank you again ^^
I'm not 100% certain that all the features of god and kigns comes natural with brave new world. Specifically the religion functionality, with faith, missionaries etc. Personally i love this feature and it does provide significant benefits in tourism and subsequently cultural victories in brave new world.

My opinion is that Civ 5 is finally getting as good as Civ 4 but it needs to have both expansions to do so. :B1:

So you say all I have to do is buying G&K and BNW? That'd be great :D
Civ 5 + G&K + BNW = good

The rest just give you more leaders and maps to the best of my knowledge.

Yea, all the main features are with the expansions. The other minor DLC just add things like additional maps, individual civilizations, and extra wonders.

Man, I really want to have a marathon Civ 5 session right now...

But yes, like the others have said- G&K and BNW are the major content packs. The other stuff is minor. Myself, I bought the Gold Edition that comes with G&K and all the minor DLC as it was very cheap on Amazon. Kicking myself for missing the sale on BNW though.

Tbh, I'm quite excited to think that I can buy the Gold Edition + BNW to fully enjoy every aspects the game can offer. I don't know if the extra $10 is a good idea though.

I really like some of the rulers. Like nebechanezzer (sp?). That guy is nuts. The earth map is good too.

OK GUYS!! Thank you very much.

I think I'll settle with the Gold Edition + BNW then. Don't want to miss any leaders ^^

I would say hold off a bit on the purchase though, the Gold Edition could easily go to 65% or 75% off in the coming days. It was like 14 US dollars the other day.

Patience is a virtue with Steam sales. Don't forget the sale ends on the 22nd- you have plenty of time to wait and see.

I would hold on and see if it will go on sale again like the other day.

ok i didn't order it yet just wanna try the process and i couldn't believe what I saw. The items in cart was indicated on sale (the total price was ~$55 for Gold Ed. + BNW) yet the total price when I tried to make payment was FULL PRICE (no sale whatsoever).

Is this common? Or just the sale ends (which is unlikely) stupidly?

Possibly a glitch. I just tried the same thing and the price was the one listed, $55.
