Hello a frind sent me some Emoticons like:

and i can use it here in the discussions but the Smiley button does not appear in my Chats! Ich have no Skins on my steam, it is the original Steaminterface... Any Ideas?

Can try typing them out like :sentry: and see if they work that way

that works, sorry just forgot to say... but you know the 26 Quest to do to get gold rang on the Comunity Badges? I am Gold but the quest Post an Emoticon in the Chat doesn´t work but i send it with post : sentry:....

no dont have... i trying to safe my games and reinstall steam i think... Or it does not works on "XP" and i have to try it on my Win 7 Hard disc

I find a solution! I trade "Steam Beta Access" thing for one of my smile in community. After activation this thing and restarting client i take emoticon button in chat :). So u can try this way too.

I have to check later today, but I am pretty sure that the person I first reported this for in fact didn't have the Beta. So I am guessing the solution won't work for her!
