Weird Screen Stretching Graphical Glitch!

Hi guys, I have been experiencing a very odd graphical problem in a number of video games I own. The image seems to be stretched mostly off to the left side and becomes letterboxed at the top of the screen. The games I have encountered this in are Dark Souls, Just Cause 2, Braid, and Psychonauts. All games except for Braid are displayed at my monitors native resolution and none have any other graphical issues. Many other games I own work perfectly fine and it seems to affect games completely randomly. All of the above games are displayed correctly in windowed mode but I would prefer to play fullscreen. And strangely it is able to be fixed in Just Cause 2 by changing the resolution and will stay fixed even if I change the resolution back to it's native res until I either quit the game of Alt-Tab, it then goes back to being distorted. I have tried many different setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel and have tried to force the aspect ratio using all the available settings. I then tried to use the setting on my Monitors BIOS-like menu and still couldn't fix the problem (Dark Souls became pillarboxed when I changed the monitor settings but the stretching was still present). I took screenshots of the problem but they turned out to have no weird stretching at all so the pictures I have provided are faked in order to give you a sense of what I see when I play the games. I have fully up to date drivers and no one else seems to be having the same problem so if someone could help me find a solution I would be extremely grateful as I have been stuck on this problem for quite sometime!

Just Cause 2 was ok at one point I think, but for a few months now I have had to put up with this glitch and Braid, Dark Souls, and Psychonauts have all had it from the start.

Is everything on your system at its latest version? This would be BIOS, drivers, operating system and installed software.

As far as I know everything is up to date, I own over 90 games and only a few are affected by this.

Share a DirectX Diagnostics[windows.microsoft.com] log with us.

1. Open the Start menu, type "dxdiag" and press Enter.
2. Select Yes if you are questioned about confirming digitally signed drivers.
3. If available, click "Run 64-bit DxDiag" right from the button "Help".
4. Click "Save All Information...", save the file, and then open the file.
5. Copy the document content to Pastebin[pastebin.com] with a one week paste expiration and an unlisted paste exposure and share it with us.

Also, why are you connecting your display device via VGA?

Also my monitor is a slightly older model and doesn't have a DVI or HDMI port so I use a DVI to VGA adapter to connect my graphics card to my monitor.

Would a Start up repair fix the problem? A clean installation would delete all my files wouldn't it?

Ok thanks Fred, I have a second HDD so I can just back up to that, thanks for all your help and your quick responses. I will let you know if it works!
