Can someone clairfy how the card drops - I've gotten like 3-4 cards but god help me I don't remember them dropping...
1. Constructing a badge -- this will grant you one card
2. Purchasing ~10 USD of games from the shop -- this will grant you one card
3. Voting 3 times in the community choice votes (you have to be level 5 in order to get cards, and cards will be retroactively given upon reaching level 5) -- this will get you one card.
Hoover's right. At the bottom of the checkout page, you'll notice a progress meter that represents your progress towards another card drop in addition to a message indicating whether you'll receive a card for the current purchase.
So yes, at 0% progress, one $5 purchase won't grant you anything but a subsequent $5 purchase will.
Actually, it's approximately $10. There's a small footnote there that mentions it. I made a purchase that was three cents shy of $10 and still earned a card. That would be pretty lame if they didn't though. Can you imagine one $9.99 game = no card? I shudder just thinking about the potential backlash.
