Unable to make a purchase... Purchasing errors in Steam, etc
So what the hell is the point of having a sale if you can't add anything to cart? I've restarted steam a couple times and still screwed up.

This won't work for everyone, but try either switching your download region (Steam - Settings - Downloads - Download Region) or create a new account and gift games to your original account. The latter worked out perfectly for me. Hope this helps some.

Man, did you even know all the pressure they are with the release of DOTA 2 and the summer sale? when you say big, is really big, imagine all the normal users of steam + the new DOTA 2 players + the new people coming for the summer sale + the first time purchase, it is a really hard work isn't?

They shouldn't release Dota2 if they can't handle it, which clearly with summer sales and the release of dota 2 at the same time they can't handle it... LoL has way more players than dota2 and doesn't crash any where near as much especially due to traffic. Yeah, but they don't deal with the biggest digital games store in the world plus LoL is the only game that Riot Games have.

thisd is crap been tryign to buy the same items all day and you wont let it happen, now 1 of them i cant get a tthe sale price, thanks for that by the way.
You were quick enough to take my money before the sale but now since you selling them cheep its not good enough.

Thansk valve come home form work to chill and try to play soem new games to get f***ed over because you could not handle this on a fridays well done really well done.

Yeah, already missed the opportunity to buy like two games I wanted because my visa isn't accepted. Sent a message to steam support, though judging from the ammount of replies in this thread I doubt it'll help much. I'm able to buy stuff with my steam wallet, but I have neither the means nor willingness to get a paysafecard or something like that at this moment just to be able to make purchases, not when I should be able to do it easily through other means, means I've used countless times before, I should add.
Damn.

Same to ! i Can't buy anything. I think it's not be a transaction problem, but it's a steam system problems.

i refund my steam wallet (it works) and i can buy my games by this way (by credit card doesn't works all the time for me) -> i do all operation by web not in steam program

I continuously am having my shopping cart emptied while trying to add a group of games. It's now done it four times, which makes it very difficult to buy the games, as it takes a long time to add them all to the cart, and ends up going through many windows.

Have had the same problems as everyone else with "creditcard declined" and "transaction error" . I sent a support ticket yesterday around 20:00 GMT +1 and got a reply from Steam support an hour ago which said:

Are you attempting to make the purchase through Steam or with a web browser using the storefront webpage?

If using Steam, try the following:

If using a PC
-Exit Steam, then go to the location that Steam is installed to. By default this is C:\Program Files\Steam directory (this is the default with a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
-Delete all of the files except for the following:

- Steam.exe
- \SteamApps\ and \Userdata\


If using a Mac:
-Exit Steam and go to the folder Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam
-Delete all of the files in this folder except for SteamApps and Userdata.


Restart your computer and test the issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.

If the issue still persists, try using a web browser (Internet Explorer 7 or higher on PC, or Safari if on a Mac) to make the purchase using http://store.steampowered.com/

Note: I've tried with my android phone, using the web browser and on another computer, but this actually worked (failed first time, but second time it went trough). Just bought 6 new games trough the the Steam Client :)

Edit: And yes - I've tried like 50 times with four different creditcards, before doing this between summer sale started to now.

now i get this "The current payment method does not match the country of the store. The cart has been converted and the updated total will show on the next page. You may also review your cart here, or change your payment method below." and yes i'm in another country
