Steam won't let me go online

Well this website is but the client engine or whatever kept me in offline mode. I tried logging out and trying to re-log in but it's exact words were: "Unable to connect to the steam network. 'Offline mode' is unavailable because there is no Steam login information stored on this computer.

You will not be able to use steam until you can connect to the steam network again."

Should I uninstall Steam?

Im going to restart my computer and see if that helps. If it does I'll close this discussion or whatever.

I just restarted my computer and it worked handy dandy. I think my problem was that i forced closed my computer before everything had time to turn off properly. But if I were you I would restart my computer. If you did that and it didnt work, just uninstall steam then reinstall

ive tryed restarting my computer changing my modes and everything but it still wont let me get to online mode i can still play my games but when i try to download anything it says you can't since its in offline mode anyone else have the same problem?

yep your not alone i still am still trying to find an answer, and the steam support is a joke, you wate 2 weeks and it tells you they have a lot of questions to answer and to look in the duscussion page of the community.

It's happens to me sometimes, but I just restart my comp and it goes back to normal.

Google this question. There are a billion people asking the same question and it's been answered countless times with a big list of steps to try, one after another. I know this because I just finished fixing this issue a few hours ago. Google. Always, always, google your question before posting on the forums about it.

Delete the appcache. Restart your computer. Then start steam back up.

What I did was I was using the Beta opt-in and when it updated Steam wouldn't go Online. I opted out of the Beta, restarted Steam, now it goes Online just fine. Hope this helps some who have this trouble. :)
