How does tihs affect uplay games purchased via steam, and my steam account?

Searched the link for ubi com myself. Got prompted to change password.
Did it.
No rocket science.

If you recycle passwords, you get in trouble when such things happen. Otherwise all fine.

its happening to a lot of people. ubisoft forums are nailed with this issue and the only response tehy are getting is from forum admins, not tech support, and expecting perhaps weeks of waiting time for their CD keys to be validated or for their login issues to be resolved.

At least I will have electronic receipt available via steam if I end up bitten, but I was really just hoping to hear from someone who successfully changed their password, and was able to continue to use theri uplay title via steam and its auto login process.

If i log into uplay it says I have no games. If I log in via steam I get my games. They want me to change my password. This could hvae hte effect of stripping my CD key from one style of account leaving me with no games registered.

If you change your password, when you then try to launch a game in Steam that uses Uplay for the first time you will get an invalid password message when Uplay tries to login (as it's still trying to use your old one) and you will be asked for the correct password.

Just put your new password in and as long as you still have the remember me box ticked then it will remember the new password and subsequent logins will be automatic again.

from UBISOFT SUPPORT regarding tie in between steam and uplay accounts:


Uplay and Steam accounts are not tied together in that way, but if you used the same email/password combo on both accounts, I highly suggest you also reset the password on your Steam account as well.
