Ping when downloading games from Steam
Whenever I start a download on steam my ping goes up really high.

no this is just in general every single game I try to download

That is normal for any connection, any game. Do not download when playing a game is the obvious solution. You could also use a bandwidth limiter but it is perfectly normal for ping to go up as you saturate your line. Or use the download limiter built into Steam. Thats why it is there.
