HOW TO USE EMOTICONS IN CHAT!?!

so i've been browsing some stuff (skim reading) aparently with a new steam beta card or something like that emoticons pop it on a box in chat somewhere or you put sh!t in like :frown: thats does not work. so tell me how i actrualy do it and not any how crap becuase i looked for ages now.

Once you Craft a badge you get a Steam emoticons , and you can use them in chat like this

you need to get a full set of trading cards in a game you have (and can get cards on) then you craft the badge from the card. When you craft a badge, you have a chance of getting an emoticon to drop from that crafting. You can check your process under your name in menu - badges

Well im working in half life 2 cards to craft fecking crap i think you can load up checkpoints and that and you can get them of the series (each point of the game) but the steampipe has annoyed me becuase i skinned that game up to a sext b!tch but if steam wants to fnck around like that all the time, well i can't be facking arsed to now. sorry abit out of subject there

No, you have to have a full set. Half-Life 2 has 8 in total. You can only get 4 out of the card set by playing/idling. This is to encourage you to trade and buy the cards straight off the Market.
Had you participated in the Steam Trading Card beta, you would've gotten this, which you can still buy off the Market if you please, along with a lot of other emoticons.
