What seems to be the problem with your game?
No, I've solved the common Windows 8 problem, crashing at start-up, GFWL not signing you in etc.
Basically, I downloaded the game at Christmas (when I bought it) and it kept crashing at start. So my friend sent me link to GFWL (Games For Windows Live) website, Told me I needed it. So I got it and it still was crashing so I read up on the internet and found out GFWL has compatability problems with Windows 8.
Multiple times I tried to fix DR2 and had no success. But one day I finally got it. The way I did it was went to my DR2 directory Computer / Windows(C:) / Program Files (x86) / Steam / steamapps / common / Dead Rising 2. There you can find the application 'deadrising2'. Right-Click it and 'Troobleshoot compatability'. Then 'use recommended settings and it should say 'Windows XP pack 3' I think then a test run. In the test run DR2 will work but GFWL still doesn't work so you can't sign in preventing you from saving rendering the game pretty much useless. So I left it for another time.
Later on (which was this Monday) I Got Super Street Fight IV Arcade Edition for Steam and found out it was on GFWL and it kept crashing so I had to find a way to fix it. So I went to the Control Panel and to Uninstall or change Program. then found and deleted 'Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable'. At this point I didn't think this would work. Then I went to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient and downloaded the latest client. If the following link doesn't work anymore, simply Google 'Games for Windows Live Marketplace Client'. Then I ran the installer (signed in with my xbox account and stuff) and then left it on in the back and SSFIVAE was working so I played it for a bit then thought about checking DR2 and DR-OTR. I checked and they worked perfectly fine, Just gotta enter your Purchased serial codes that came with the game into it in-game and you done. By the way you don't need the GFWL laucher open in the back to play it everytime. Hopefully this works for anyone out there who has this problem. Good luck :D
