I Cannot Sell My Cards
I could buy and sell during the beta :tradingcard: , yet now for some reason I cannot buy or sell, despite the fact that I bought 2 tf2 items, dustforce, FTL, and Trials Gold Edition (Regretting that last one). Why can I still not buy or sell cards? I have 2 foils and I don't see the point in keeping them.

What happens when you try?
Only things I could think of are changing your password/contact email and reaching the maximum value of transaction per year ($200 IIRC).

There is no maximum transaction value per year.

"Currently we are restricting Steam Wallet balances to $200. As a result, you will be restricted from listing items for sale in the Community Market if the existing balance in your Steam Wallet, plus the sale price of the item(s), would together exceed the $200 limit. We may be raising the Steam Wallet balance limit, or otherwise changing this restriction, in the future. Note that, if you have multiple accounts, balances for all Steam Wallets associated with all of your accounts will be aggregated for purposes of applying this limit."

Does the marketplace, when you hover over the Sell Item button, tell you why you're locked out?

Just that I haven't made a purchase in the last year/ 30 days

Update: Steam has just informed me that as long as nothing occurs to restict my access, I'll be able to use the community market by the 2nd of August. It's a bit unfair... but I'll take what I can get.
Firespite Jul 3, 2013 @ 3:27pm
Oh lord, that's awful.

I don't understand how steam could think someone with 200+ hours on tf2, and 30+ hours on most of his other games could think their account was fake.
Firespite Jul 3, 2013 @ 3:30pm
I'm facing the same issue, unfortunately. I have to wait until Sunday, but August would make me go through the roof. I mean seriously, way to treat your valuable, invested customers. I guess once they have you on the hook with all your time and effort poured into the platform there's no chance you'll just 'shop somewhere else.'

Hum. No choice now except to wait, I guess, unless anyone wants to draw up some huge signs on wooden poles and protest. :) Ha.

I never really thought Steam would do anything that would step on my toes so much, but it's happened. And what recourse does anyone really have when it does?

Also man, you have a lot of games for a 1 year account. Lots of hard gaming going on there. :)

The trading FAQ is clear. You have several requirements to particpipate in teh market they are

15 day cooldown to have enabled SteamGuard
30day to 365 cooldown must have purchased game or registered a retail game on Steam

If you don't meet these requimrents it doesnt matter 'how long' you've been on steam

There should be many more factors influencing Steam's apparent willingness to infringe upon the privileges of its dedicated users.

You can state rules and regulation all you want, but the Marketplace still being in BETA, I would just assume changes can and will still be made to make all involved parties happier.

I could always trade during beta, steam guard is active, and before and after my problem occured I had bought and paid for games.

It could be a technical glitch, but now that it's occurred, good luck getting anyone from tech support to listen.

You could still try though and sign up for the Steam Support site to submit a ticket.

But they'll just read off their card like they did me.
