Can't Get More Than 2 Minutes into Game Before System Freezes

Just downloaded and installed Company of Heroes 2 from Steam. Updated my drivers.
Everything launches fine, but about two minutes into the game, the screen goes black and my computer freezes.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with an AMD Phenom II X4 910 processor, and an ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series video card.
Any help I can get solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

That CPU is fine but the GPU, not so much even though he did not give the exact model. 4300/4500 covers a broad range of cards. It makes me think he does not have AMD drivers installed but maybe the Windows drivers.

The first thing to do is try new drivers. Make sure you get them from AMS and not Windows update.

the x300/x500 is so much worse than old 3600 and up.
speeds on those cards under x500 are so shjt, and still they're presented as "new generation" - could call it a cheat.

Could also be the video card drivers. I had similar isssues where after a few minutes the game would crash (Dead Island). Rolled back to a previous stable release and the problems were solved

Have you tried a program called Slim Drivers? This app will make sure you have the up-to-date drivers on your system. Also, make sure the settings under your video card check out to be medium at least or you might run into problems. Also check Windows Updates for any patches as well. Hope this helps.
