If you barely get out of your house, you never receive any security codes. <-- These guys can have 1 account
If you use steam on other computers or phones, you have to deal with steamguard alot (when enabled) ---> Your games should be safe if your passwords are comprimised (Assume you have a different password)
Downsides are if you are the first type described above. You barely get any emails, you get bored, lazy. Decide to switch back to main email because you're tired of logging into another email to check for or just a code. It could go inactive after a while. (Marked for deletion?)
Or you can forget the password, forget your mother at the front door, burn down the house, make decisions. Experience things?
Just want to say that you can decide what the best solution is, only by yourself. If you're a clumsy-I-lost-my-phone-again person, it would be a good thing, but also a bad thing because you can forget the password too. How to tell a person the best way of doing stuff, without knowing things could get worse?
also i do not use steam on anything else but my pc.
This can be done with Gmail & Yahoo for example.
Also, use different & unique passwords on both your Steam and your email -account.
If you don't enter any scam pages, you should pretty much be safe.
My normal recommendations for people are
1) Enable SteamGuard
2) Use Gmail or Hotmail
3) Link Google Authenticator to Gmail/Hotmail
4) Ensure your email password is complex, and not reused anywhere on the Internet
5) Install Anti-virus
6) Ensure your OS is always fully patched
7) Be wary of phishing sites offering free game or other such things
These 7 steps will go a long way to ensure your account is secure.
You can be scammed if you're not careful
You must always be vigilant against scams. Thinking you are immune is the first step towards being a victim. It happens. Hell I've done it once when I was really tired and I thought 'wait what the hell did I just do?' It happens to the best of us. So you always need to be vigilant.
