Steam starts in offline mode

For the past week or so steam has started in offline mode, ive had steam for like 2 or 3 years and this is the first time ive seen this happen. I cant find any settings to change the start up behavior. Any tips appreciated.

I have selected "go online" this is only a temporary fix tho as the next time i start my computer it starts in offline again. Sorry, i should have listed that in my first post.

If the Steam Client is launched and your internet connection isn't "properly" connected yet (for example, if you have Steam start with Windows and your computer hasn't yet finished the connection to your router) then Steam will start itself in Offline Mode as it cannot detect an internet connection.

If you have Steam set to start with Windows, I suggest disabling that and launching Steam manually once your internet has started up.

If you don't have Steam set to start with Windows, then it's possible that you're manually launching Steam during a connection blip or you're manually launching it too quickly, before your computer has connected to the internet properly.

plz click friends above store, and click it. Then at bottom left click on add friends. the next box put in -=NAM=- Blade and click search. I will come up and accept your invite and this will be alot easyier to do.

There is no need to add people to friends to troubleshoot issues, Blade. The forums are more than equipped to give the information that Fascinate would like.

That's not what I said, Blade.
His internet is clearly "installed" else he wouldn't be posting here.

When you first start up your computer, there is a small timeframe where your network adapter hasn't sent and received various signals to confirm the internet connection. During this time, your computer is technically offline. If Steam is started during this timeframe then Steam will not be able to detect an internet connection and therefore launch in Offline Mode.

Def not my internet, like i said ive had steam for a long time and this is the first time this has happened, all of my other start up programs work fine (avast, audio etc etc) i will try reinstalling steam to see if it fixes it. Thx for the help guys, this isnt a big deal but more of an annoyance lol.

frazer was in the wrong for me trying to help. I might be foggy on my info but haven;t went off line in awhile and I was trying to help u but there are peeps who got to get there 2 cent's in. I've been online since 2007 or 08 so I will try. contact me if you need more help.

frazer i see has no comment. if you want I have vast people to do what we need to get u fixed, but this is in your puter and from there we can go on in steam and you will enjoy your games.. NAM is a gaming community that is into lot of games and we can help u out..

same thing has been happening to me, but I think it's just internet connection on my end. If my connection is iffy when I start my laptop then it will start in offline mode, but vice versa if I have a decent connection
