Steam.exe - Entry Point Not Found HELP!

I keep getting an error that says

The procedure entry point _RIB_alloc_provider_handle@4 could not be located
in the dynamic link libary mss32.dll

it keeps crashing steam please help!

Same here. But without crash. it is only annoying errors.

Same here, while im browsing chrome or either working, steam in the background gives me this annoying error without crash. A fix for this would be helpful...

i am somewhat glad that im not the only one getting this error, cause people know what im talking about, but none of us know how to fix it, i contacted steam support, hopefully they can suggest something. I also tried to uninstall/reinstall steam and that did not work

Guys did you join the beta update client via steam settings? Because I did. That may be the reason why... Not sure though.
Oh yeah and one last thing, how often do you guys get this error? I get it once a day only, with my steam open 24/7.

Hm. I got this same error for the first time today. 2 Error messages that can be dismissed by clicking OK. Everything seems to work just fine.
After the Trading Card Beta had ended, I switched back to the "stable release" of steam.
So I assumed it was because of that. It's still occurring even after doing a Steam install repair. (Also, repairing my Steam installation caused HL2 (also EP1 and 2) to be marked as not installed, even though they were clearly on my system. Weird stuff.
Looks like a bug in the client to me.

It's definitely a client error. Btw suntomic,I had the same problem with installed games I lost 2 games that I had installed... Lets just wait for a proper steam client update, in hopes it will fix it.

I can confirm that I also have this exact problem. It appears for me during games as well as just doing other things.

I'm getting the exact same error. It happens randomly a few times a day. Also only started to happen after I signed up for the beta.

I fixed it by deleting everything in my Steam folder except Steam.exe, steamapps, and userdata. After it redownloads the files it should be fixed. Hope this helps! :)

well i re signed up for the Steam Beta Update and restarted steam and 36 hours now without the error

It has nothing to do with drivers. Its a steam error. nothing is fixing it for me

Hey Rabb have you tried the following: 1. Join beta client update, 2. Check for steam client update, 3. Deleted registry.blob. I did all of the previous and it seemed to work, 2 days now without it.
