Buying game collection as gift
If you buy a game collection can you just activate a few of the games, not all of them?

As long as they are all different Steam items, yes you can do this.

No. If for instance you buy the Mount & Blade Collection on sale now as a gift, it will appear in your inventory as a single item. (The same works for publisher packs and other multiple item collections sold on Steam.) There's no way to break them up.

Likewise, the collections usually will not give extra items (unless explicitly stated) if you already own some of them.

I actually was asking for getting mount and blade, but ill just get them al for myself i guess, thanks for the help
