offline game lag

I have been having a problem with offline game lag recently, I ply Shogun 2 all the time on medium settings, no problem whatsoever, now i tried playing witcher 2, lagged so much it was unplayable, same with dead island riptide, I have an alienware x51 gaming computer, with quad core i7s, 8gb ram, 1.5gb graphics card, anyone know whats up with his horrible lag? (i have no idea if this affects it or not but i hooked my computer up to my 60' samsung tv, idk if thatd affect it or not)

Have you repair the Game Files ? Ore Defrag the Files on Steam ?

if u hooked it up to Samsung TV that could be the problem - the cable you use could try to interfere with the frames and try to revert the game to windowed mode - I tried EXACTLY same thing only difference was my Samsung Tv was 55".

thanks for the help but as it turned out the problem was the TV, once i hooked it up to a monitor everything worked fine and i could play alot of games on much higher graphics than before
