So if they know where the server is located, and compare it to your REALLY low ping for example, they would figure out you are really close to the server. Easy guess.
I've asked someone before if he was from Tokyo (just a rough guess, because he had over 300 ping), he actually confirmed my guess. Must be dumb luck.
Also, admins see IP adresses. A simple whois on IP traces it back to country/city.
It ain't easy to narrow it down to an adress, since your internet service provider is taking care of your privacy on that part. Nothing is 100% safe,
It's good to be paranoid, it helps you survive. Just keep it up.

If you connect to certain servers tey keep stats of you onilne which makes it easy to search for specific information if htey store it.
