I'd like to know too. I really like hardcore free roam on Red Dead Redemption PS3 but I can't find ANYTHING on par with how awesome that is.

the elder scrolls oblivion is great and has many mods, some mods will make the game more realistic and harder.

There are quiet a few in the free2play section, I hate microtransactions, but a new game that has an open world will have a lot to offer in the way of exploration and you can usually get away without buying anything to do that. Fallen Earth might be something you consider trying. There are a few other free2plays, that I know nothing about and might be worth googling. I've played Fallen Earth and it's okay. It felt safe enough to me and I'm kind of hesitant about registering with some companies. If you sign up with gamers first to play Fallen Earth you will be required to be 18. You won't be told that until you hit the play button after you've registered, so if you use an alias make sure it's older than 18.

I assume by the games you like you will find it open enough and that you are a mature gamer, not that it deserves a 17 or 18 year old requirement. I will try to think of some others, but I've been up since yesterday and I'm tired.

Mafia 2 (multiplayer mod?), Godfather II, Saints Row 1, 2, 3 (Don't buy 3 unless you get a deal on 'The Full Package'), Arma 2 (especially if you get the Day Z mod),....,Mount & Blade 2 and 3 are supposed to be good, I can't speak from experience. It will be on my wishlist now though.
