Can't play multiplayer in any game! And I have Internet connection!

Hello, this is really rare, but somehow, when I try to join a server or multiplayer game, it gives me an error that it cannot connect me. Yet I have internet connection and I can use my browser with no problems.

I cannot play multiplayer in Garrysmod and Natural Selection 2. When I try to launch Planetside 2, it will give me the G99 error stating that it cannot connect me to the server.

When I tried to join an European server on teamspeak it didn't let me connect, but when I connected to a server in my country (Panama) it connected me with no problem.

Is this happening to someone else, or did somebody faced this in the past?

Did last year,,had somthing to do with the new update,,get ahold of steam and tell them the same.

How did it fix for you? Was there just a steam update that solved it or was it a firewall issue?
I have the same problem and I can't figure out whats wrong because I have a desktop that's connected via ethernet that works fine and can play online but with the laptop in my room I'm having the exact same issue you were. I feel like it has something to do with Norton because Norton is always an issue but I have the same firewall on both computers so I don't know why one works and one doesn't.

I cannot conect to the multiplayer servers at all on 6 of my games (two of which won't even launch properly). And this is on my desktop computer which is connected directly to the wifi via ethernet. I have no idea what is going on and am no tech genius to figure out how to do anything about it from my end without someone to guide me.

I'm sorry for the necromancy but ffs SAME problem here and this is apparently the only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thread I found where someone fixed it and the guy didn't even tell the public how... I tried so much ♥♥♥♥ now but nothing works. I'd love to blow up my desktop

i've never experienced this issue out of the 8 years on steam, all of a sudden i can't connect to any of my friends in any game. i tried dark souls and they cant connect to me or vice versa. even simply as terraria. every multiplayer game that requires a host is just completely broken for me. i've even factory reset my entire desktop, im hooked up to Ethernet. and i can't seem to play wioth friends. it's very agitating and i just need a solution

Did you ever solve this problem im struggling with the same rn.

So I was having this issue with a friend, we figured out what our issue was so I'll tell you with a little haiku

It's not DNS
There's no way it's DNS
It was DNS

All I had my friend do was open his command prompt and do the ipconfig /flushdns command and he got it to work.
