Please Help! Steam "Error Code 53" Seemingly no Solution!!
I have been a long time steam user, and have recently been playing Company of Heroes 2 as well as Civ 5. Last night i tried to play both of these games and they came up with the same Error message "Steam Servers are top busy right now (Error Code 53)" I tried uninstalling steam as a whole, still nothing. Steam support is useless. I've always stood by Steam&Valve cause I think they are so great! But after this I'm not sure anymore, when I look this issue up on other forums the question goes unanswered. It's as if there isn't any real solution. I've turned off Firewall, everything you could imagine. If you have Expirience with this problem PLEASE help. Many Thanks
-Parker

Incomplete Installation (53)

IOLO System Mechanic Professional and F-Prot Antivirus are known to interfere with Steam and cause this error. Please also try following the suggestions in the Delete of steam.exe failed, Win32 Error 5 Access is denied article.

Run CMD as an admin, then type in sfc /scannow

Let it run

Then restart computer

Worked for me
I had this problem but then I read on another thread that I should turn off Real Time Scanning on McAfee, did it and problem instantly went away.

This. Worked for me instantly. Ofc only relevant if you have McAfee.

Thanks a lot mate, this also solved my problem instantly, as i am also using McAfee
If you were like me and didn't have an active McAfee account and therefore could not edit your anti virus options, deleting the program works fine to, and you can keep Real Time Scanning on for almost every anti virus software apart from McAfee

Worked! Thanks! I was dying here!
I just had the same issue yesterday. I am a first time user and searched all around for solutions to this problem. The only thing that has worked for me so far was this from what Vastaux said in his comment below

This may be a stupid question, but isn't it kind of dangerous to not have real time scanning on? I'm a McAfee user, so I'm sure this will work for me, but I'm a bit nervous to just not have that on.

It's not usualloy the real time scanning, but the heuristic part that causes issues.
