How to Download a game and install later

Hi,
My home has really horrible internet so
I would like to download a copy of a game from steam (when im in uni) and then take it home and install it on my desktop PC. How can i do this? thanks in advance

Download/install the game on Steam on your laptop, then copy the files across to your desktop PC at home.

so is there no way that i can just download the non installed version and then just install it later on? im a bit hesitent in just copying and pasting an already installed version

On Steam, downloading and installing are the same thing. If you're still unsure you can create a backup through the client and run that on your desktop PC.

Just copy and paste the installed version, it's the best way to backup games, the client backup service has been known to go wrong in the past.
