Depends on the game. It should say on the amazon page if it's a steamkey.

You can only download on Steam if when you purchase a game it comes with a Steam Activation Code. The description will almost always mention that Steam DRM is required.
Just Ctrl+F and type "Steam" to look for any mention. That's what I do. :)

Amazon games are region-locked and cannot be downloaded via Amazon if you are in a different country than the store you purchased from.

Amazon Games are not at Steam.

It says quite clearly on the page "Downloading: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United States and who have a U.S. billing address."

The Steam games themselves ARE NOT region locked.

You can easily bypass the US billing address barrier by either faking one or using Google HQ as your address.

The only games that are known to be locked is Dead Island and Inversion.

Amazon download games have nothing to do with Steam.

Amazon's are region-locked to US customers. I already have a friend who tried this and couldn't play.

Well they do, for buying.

Downloiading = no.

Buying Steam keys from them = yes.

ok, dam well thank you anyway, i might just buy from the taleworlds website.

No because they use your billing address, as in the address that your credit card is registered to. If you have a credit card registered to a US bank and home address then maybe it will, try it and see!
I would strongly recommend not to though, lest you waste your money on something you can't play.

My games i've bought from amazonUS worked perfectly well.

Some last year, some this year.

Retail games work fine, games you download directly from the Amazon site only work in the US.
