Depends what you mean by "a very long time" longest it takes me is about 30 seconds.

three things usually dictate how long a program takes to come up 1 your ISP (they control your bandwidth and the speed ) 2 your harddirve (depending on how full and fragmented it is will affect the load of a program and finally your memory aka ram, not enough of this will definately will set back your load times.
