The network connection works with Sockets, which is an IP + port. If both the IP and the port are the same, there is no difference between your computers' network interfacing and you will not be able to play together.
Yea, but how can they end up with the same port when they r in 2 different interfaces & I know ur not talkin port as in plugs. Im sayin each "plug" should have its own port number randomized by the router. But isnt the port mostly used for fowarding? Plus any other game works fine even after I restarted my router. Yet if I restarted my router that should have renewed my ip.
Make sure there is no forwarding rule on the router, as that would override 2 machines connecting to the same gameserver. You can also disconnect your router and instead install a Switch or Hub if your ISP allocates more than 1 IP for you, to resolve the issue.
Again if the ports were the same I would not be able to play any other game online multiplayer. There i no fowarding set anyways causes I reformatted & my router sets r blank cause I reset the system as well.
One should say 27015, 27005, and one should say 27016, 27006 or anything different from the first. If they are both the same, you need to apply -port 27016 to one of the computers.
- Ports: cl0 27005, sv1 27015, htv2 27020, 3 total.
But for some odd reason I can not get the Console to open up on other PC. I even shut the ~ option off and turned it back on... Now thats messed up, but u think I can get that port threw the cmd ipconfig?
Im confused!!!!!! I changed nothing & that proves that the router did set a different port like it should.
Thanx for ur time I appreciate it!
