I deleted Steam.exe. Is there any way to get it back?
I was playing TF2 having a blast. Then I had to go use the bathroom. I logged of TF2 and when I tried to play it again, it wouldn't let me saying "You can only run 1 instance of this game." So I decided to delete all of the files and I deleted Steam.exe. I tried deleting the others but it wouldn't work. Is there any way to get it back?

... You deleted files? That was mighty silly!
If this happens in future, you should open up the Task Manager and go to the Processes Tab. Then locate the HL2.exe and End that Process.

Regarding your problem of deleting the Steam.exe, you'll need to redownload the Steam Installer file: http://store.steampowered.com/about/
I tried re-installing it, but it says "Steam needs to be installed in an empty folder". I'm running on a Windows 8 and I need to delete all the files EXCEPT for SteamApps.

Move steamapps and userdata to you desktop, then proceed to deleting the entire steam folder including the steam folder itself. Then install steam, then move the folders back to where they belong.

Find steam in your Add/Remove Programs (or "Programs and Features") control panel. There should be a repair option. If you also deleted your steamapps subfolder you will have to download your games again.
its easy , open folder stem and find it file "steam.exe.old" and then u can rename it "steam.exe"

I mean of course it doesn't work, you deleted the files and didn't reinstall it, at least from how you worded your issue.

If you deleted it by accident from the main directory, it will be possible to retrieve it via System Restore.

I'm not suggesting to do a system restore but by navigating to Program Files and right-clicking on the Steam folder, and you will see a Previous Versions tab. All that needs to be done, is to select the last folder version, click open and you can copy the Steam.exe file back to the current folder.

You just have to fix game caches.:steamhappy:
