Steam: steam.exe - Entry Point Not Found Help!!
When I boot up my account I sometimes get this error flat out about steam:

"The procedure entry point av_asprintf could not be located in the dynamic link library avutil-51.dll."

I press ok and it keeps coming back up everytime and I can't access steam. Sometimes when I boot up my account, this message does not appear, and there is a white box that says it is checking for steam updates. Then afterwards the error comes up. Sometimes steam works completely fine.

I looked up on the internet and I can't find any perminant fixes or explainations. I tried renstalling steam and system restore. The only thing I can think of to do next is reintall my operating system.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel i5 2500k

ASUS P8P67 LE

For me, killing the Steam.exe process and restarting Steam works fine! Hope it works for you!

I'm having the same issue here, restarting Steam after ending the Steam.exe process works fine (thanks Echo!), but its irritating having to do that every time I boot my system. I'm going to submit a ticket to Valve, hopefully if enough people have this issue, they will address it.

Same, and works for me too.

Same thing, and it's only since that last patch.

That is exactly what is happening to me right now! Anyone know what's causing this problem?

I'm having the same problem and found that it only happens when I have the program "Razer Game Booster" open. Is everyone who is having the problem running this program too? Reply if you are/aren't.

EDIT: Steam seems to run just fine even with Razer Game Booster open if I end steam.exe through task manager and reboot Steam.

Yea, I have this problem and I run Razer Game Booster.
But I get the error even if Game booster is closed.

Hopefully it'll get patched.

Yeah, same issue. I'm using Gamebooster as well. I'm just glad to know that it wasn't all the other stuff I've been doing to my computer that's caused it. Moved my O/S to a SSD and keep all my games and stuff on my other drive.

Yes I'm using the game booster as well, but once I close-open steam works like a gem.

Using the Razor Gamebooster as well. I submitted a ticket to Valve but have not heard back yet. I will update it to include this detail.

You guys have no idea how relieved I am to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem. I thought it was an issue with my Skyrim game, since it's already been giving me grief recently.
If nothing's inherently wrong with my games, then I'm not so worried about it. Still, does anyone know if this error affects the performance of Steam games in general?

Yep, happening with me too. And only when Razer Game Booster is on.

It is happening to me and no matter what I do, Steam never comes up. I can't get on Steam at all. Any ideas that could fix this? Please help.
