HL2 Video Glitch Fix: Cannot find VIDS:CVID

For those of you using Steam on Windows Server 2008 R2 or are getting a message saying: Cannot find VIDS:CVID decompressor when the steam logo normally video plays at the beginning of half life i found your answer.
The missing codec is called the Cinepak codec.
It can be found at
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Cinepak_Codec.htm
just click th download codec link.
a different version for older systems can be found at
http://codecpack.co/download/Cinepak-Codec.html
on this page select 32bit.
Extract the contents to your windows folder and the codec will be installed.
It took me 4 hours to find this info on a remote message board.
