Some programs can deal with it (e.g. mumble, teamspeak) and some can't (e.g. skype, steam). Anyway headphones will eliminate that problem with much greater efficiency.
Headphones + dedicated mic or headset? Well it's up to you. I'm using 1st choice since I've found good mic and don't want to lose it with next broken headset.

So, you mean if I get a USB mic, I should wear headphones, but if I get a headset, I just need the headset by itself? Well, yeah, I see what you mean with the echo issue. I usually play games with headphones anyway because my speakers have bad quality. Thank you!

These look sickkk! :) If I decide to look at headsets rather than mic + headphones, I'll look into these.
But the thing is, I also want to get into gaming commentaries and stuff like that, so would headphones work as good quality for recording my voice?

Ya that link is the headset that I use here at home.
Seph" But the thing is, I also want to get into gaming commentaries and stuff like that, so would headphones work as good quality for recording my voice?
winter" ya the mic has given me no problems at all, i have had a few cheaper pair and the mic always sucked because of the software noise cancling. it always "boosted" mic input to max lvs becaus of minor noise in backround when i would " go silent" . this pair does not have that problem.
