I have 3 drives all of which have more than enough space to install Far Cry 3, but stea says I have 0 space. Is there a work around?
Thanks

Drice e the same drive as steam is in. That's where I have installed all my games previously.
As for disk space I have more than ten imes the required space. I've had no problems with this set up in the past.

I don't think farcry 3 is on the new content system which means its trying to install to the drive steam is on and you are not able to change drives. So whatever space you have on the other two drives matters not to Steam.

Steam installed on the root. Every game has installed with no problems.

Far Cry wants to add a 'steam games' to the root and then install the game there. I allowe that. But it says 0 disk space. For some reason its reading the disk wrong.

One solution is to copyu the dvd files to your computer and install from there. I don't have the disk. I trusted steam to handle the install. Clearly I need a disk. Steam (so far has not offered a refund, so I can purchase disk.)

Up till now I have had no major problems with steam dowmload games. I think this will be my last.

It allows me to chose any drive as long as it can instaall the 'steam games' folder in the root. I have 3 drives all with enough space but steam says I don't.

I can't believe they won't give me my money back. I guess I'll have to go on the blogs and expose this fraud that steam is committing.

Steam isn't frauding you of anything, if you would have installed in the default program files like Steam recommends you wouldn't have this problem. That's the problem you are having. The way the developers made the install pack is the problem as well.

You really just need to copy the steamapps directory somewhere, do a fresh install of steam in windows program files and then put steamapps directory you saved in there so you have all your games and don't have to re-download all those. This would be the quickest fix to your problem and any future problems.

This game is crap.
I got it loaded afteer reinstalling steam client. But game fails early on. Grant just quits moving. Them mission fails and game crashes. I did all the recommended mods to no avail. I want to know how to get my money back. This game doesn't work as advertised. Far Cry 1 & 2 worked fine.
