"Failed to take master pipe connection lock
whenever i try to play a valve game (CSS, TF2, Gmod, even mods like Hidden and NMRIH) i'm told that SteamStartup failed and that it "failed to take master pipe connection lock" what does this mean?

According to some other forums, it looks like it happens when the Game Overlay doesn't close properly. Try closing GameOverlayUI.exe with task manager next time it happens.

The Samething happens to me i try to open portal and half life 2 but the wont open :(

That wont work for me do i need to restart my computer or somthing
