Usually it is not worth the cost, even if it is possible (often it is not). Upgrading RAM and HDD is generally do-able with laptops, but CPU and GPU is harder and more expensive, and not even always possible. But yes, post specs.

To play modern 3D games on a laptop, you'll usually need to invest $1000 minimum. (I quite like playing on my MSI GE70, but it's not a cheap preference.)

Maybe you should try to adjust the video settings to lowest.

Doesn't always work, if your not running minimum specs and the proper OS it just is not going to work. I have had plenty of experience dealing with these things and had to accept the fact I couldn't play certain games in my steam until I got a better computer with the proper specs.

^ but it is totally worth trying if you have not already lowered your video specs in game down to the bare bones, no its not pretty but you can play most of the time.
