Local files for in-game browser
I've made a small .html file to display shotcuts to my favorite sites game-by-game, so I don't have to copy-paste direct urls, which is quite a work if i would like to open multiple pages, neither do i have to go through the searching/finding procedure for each page.

I noticed the in-game browser can open it by simply copy-pasting the location and files into the browser. However if i try to set it as a default page (it is available from the settings of the steam layer in-game), then it does not work, because the browser automatically adds the 'http://' text to the url's front.

My problem is that it does not recognise the 'file://' part at the front, and screws up the file location. Regular browsers can handle this addition, and have no problem loading local files. Anyone knows a solution?

No solution, but how about uploading the html to dropbox and use that link?

Doesn't need to be in public, could be a private folder with a direct link.

I have tried to link it from google docs, but it opens up the docs editor. I wouldn't really like to use dropbox with it, and avoid uploading it to public space.

I know this is a massive necro, but it was the first Google result.

file:///S:/testpage.html worked fine.

Some browsers need three /// slashes for local files

For Google Docs, don't use the Google Docs link, use the link that point to the file, from Google Drive. However, by default, anything on your Google Drive is public, unless u manually set to Private.
