radeon 7950 bottleneck
My buddy just put in a radeon HD 7950. But I don't feel like it should be performing as well as it should. Far cry 3 goes from anywhere between 70 and like 25 on very high and high settings, not even maxed. And assassins creed 3 is like 10-15 fps in Boston. My CPU is a amd fx 8120 and I have 8 gig of ram. My motherboard is pcie 2.0 and the card is 3.0 but many sites says it shouldn't matter. I've asked around beforehand about my pc and everyone says the processor is fine. And my friend says it's my ram. Anyone know what's bottleneck ing it? no matter what settings i put the graphics and AA to its still the same thing, hell even world of warcraft drops to 20fps and borderlands 2 goes under 30. some help would be appreciated. http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-VS3%20FX/ that is my motherboard. can anyone figure this out?

Not one person can help?
updated drivers?
disabled integrated graphics?
pcie 2 to 3 is not that big of a deal
what kind of ram do you have and does windows show 8 gig
do you use hdd or sdd (for the games not os)?
uhh hdd i think 8gb ram and newest drivers
you may try to bind game threads to specific cores. but i do not know how they are counted so it may be 0,1,2,3 or 0,2,4,6
this is for like every game though, i never had this problem with my radeon 6850. and i'm not that computer savy.
old moddel or ghz/boost edition
and download GPU Z
and check if gpu gets full 16 lanes
then switch to sensors and start a game in windowed mode and check gpu clock and temp
