Half Life 2 - Steam Account problems
I bought HL2 back when it first came out and registered it (I think) with Steam, I completed it and then lent it to my son who played and I think registered it under his name. He is now 24 (he was 15 at the time), no longer has that email address and cannot remember what it is, it was so long ago. I am trying to load it for me again now and it won't let me. I don't see why I have to buy the game again because of lending it to my 15 year old son, as he was then. Can anyone help me resolve this?

You'll need to contact Steam Support: http://support.steampowered.com/

Steam Support accounts are different to your Steam Account, so you'll need to create a Steam Support account!

Once you have done so, create a new ticket and give them this information to prove that you are the legitimate owner of the account in question and the game license in question: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2268-EAFZ-9762

Thanks for your help - mind you just seen in store that I can get the whole series and portal for £7.50p so perhaps that's the way to go anyway! Thanks once again - I had tried steam support but did not realise it needed a new ID and password (that is a bit confusing)

Hey I've had so many E-Mail problems I have probably like twenty E-Mail adresses, and I think you should ask your so if he remembers if he hid it somewhere. Also you look through your PC's history (if you don't have a new computer and history is that adv. for you.) The recycle bin is another way to go. My last suggestion is ask him what E-Mail site he put it on check the site such as (Yahoo!, Rocketmail, etc.) If he remember look at the the site maybe he left his E-Mail in. I hope you find luck with solving your problem friend.
