Declined Visa Gift Card

I recently acquired a Visa gift card of $100 dollars and I know for sure that it is activated and unused. I keep trying to by 3 games that total up to the amount of $44 but it says my credit card company is declining the payment. Please help. What do I do?

Well when you get a visa or mastercard gift card for that matter, it will tell you to go to a site on the back of teh little cardboard thingy to register the card so that you can use it for online purchases. Should be mygiftcardsite.com since I use Visa and mastercard gift cards All the time for online purchases. Just in case you didn't know or unless you found out already.

Yep, as Siggy just said (and as the Visa Gift Card FAQ[usa.visa.com] says):

Can I use my Visa Gift card for online or phone purchases?
Yes. However, to make an online or phone purchase, you will need to register your card. You can do this by either calling the issuer, or by visiting their web site.
When you make an online or phone purchase, the name, address, and phone number you use will need to be exactly the same as the information you provided when registering your card. If the information is different, the transaction may be declined.
You can verify or update your information by visiting the card provider's web site, or by contacting them using the toll-free number provided in your card documentation.

It said this to my too but then it charged the game to my card but my card wasn't even registered. And before it was registered it charged the game 3 times on telltale games website.

Was the issue ever resolved?
This same thing happened to me as well, I recieved a gift card, and apparently entered the wrong address, my card was declined, I checked my balance and the money had been taken out- but I did not receive the game.

I agree with the statements above, but you might also try going through Paypal to purchase your games on steam. The gift card is basicaly a debit card, but on some purchases you may have to use it as a charge card in order for it to go through. Hope this helps.

If the money was taken but the overall transaction failed; Steam will restore the funds back to the card in a few days (maybe 1 week). If that time passes and the funds are not restored; contact Steam Support.

I had my visa gift card I purchased tonight and regisstered it. I tried to buy space engineers and it said I couldnt and that the credit card company was holding it or something like that. I checked my balance and it was taken out but I never recieved the game.
