updating bios help
like the title says, i need help updating my bios, i have never done this before and i dont want to ruin my computer,
the reason i want to do his is because lots of people report that portal 2 works when you up date you bios, and i want to play portal 2'
my system specs (as far as i can remember))
AMD 4100
8.00 gigs of ram
windoes 64 bit
radeon 6850
and a power supply of whitch im going to upgrade soon
i have gone onto their website and downloaded the latest thing, but when i open it up it says something like this is not compatable with your version of windows, yes it is up to the newest update, and i tried a program they have that is supposed to make updating easier, but when i tried to update my audio manager, it actually just un installed it, so i had to roll back windows to the last update,
if you can help it will be greatly appriciated, if not, at least you took the time to read it over and think about it,
thank you

Verify which one you have installed before you start an intensive search around the internet. Pehaps you have the latest version already?

dxdiag will tell you the BIOS version, but I trust the BIOS itself to show me when I enter it. No fancy program needed.
Too bad the BIOS can't be updated (over the internet) from its own settings screens.

1. Get the most recent BIOS (use CPU-Z to check which model/version you currently have)
2. Make a DOS bootdisk (-> http://blogs.technet.com/b/csstwplatform/archive/2012/06/26/how-to-create-a-ms-dos-bootable-usb-flash-drive.aspx)
3. Put the files from the zipped BIOS update on there
4. Boot from the USB
5. Start the included exe with the BIOS file as argument; in this case: AFUD4310.EXE A7641AMS.HC0
6. Wait until done and restart your PC.

Just follow these instructions:
http://www.msi.com/service/biosupdate/
The M-Flash option looks like the easiest option.
