Can't buy a 4-pack of Terraria for four different friends because I already have it, what gives?
After I add the product to my cart, the button that says "buy as a gift" is greyed out and unclickable, so A: anyone know a way around this, or if it's a bug of some sort? and B: Is there an actual reason that makes sense for this crap?

There is no way around it. 4 packs are designed to give one copy to the purchaser and 3 copies as gifts.

Four packs are not avaiable if you already own the title. It works the same way for all 4 packs.
The reason is to, partly, reduce trading abuse. The way it is now, at least one copy goes to your inventory, that way you are not left with 4 copies, at cheap price, to trade away for profit.
This way you end up 'losing' one copy if you want to buy the pack for profit.

So how many packs would I get if I purchased the four pack? Three, two, one, or none?

Ah, but you gave more information. :)

@Shadowdite: If you already own the game, you can't buy it. If you don't already own the game, as stated, buying a four-pack puts one copy of the game in your library and three copies of the game in your inventory. You can only ever buy one pack.

And here's the catch, I received my copy of Terraria as a gift. Does that change anything?

Not a thing. You already own the game, doesn't matter how you received it.
