Planetside download resets itself at 96%
Hi together, so me with my very slow internet connection downloaded planetside 2 for two days when yesterday evening i was finally at 9.4 out of 9.6 GB before going to bed.
So this morning i start my computer and the whole download starts anew. I looked it up, there are 9.4 GB of files in my download directory. So i guess thats some general steam bug!

Does anyone know how to tell steam not to restart, but to continue where it left of?

I am having the same problem with Hitman absolution. I have 25GB of files sat on my computer but it wants to download the lot of them. I also moved some games to a new HDD and they all want to redownload even though I have told steam where they are

If the files are there Steam doesn't download them again, it just checks them - should only take a few mins.

Stalk - try exiting steam properly - Steam->Exit at the top left of the client, and restarting Steam. Sometimes it can take restarting a few times after moving the steamapps folder for Steam to recognise that the games are there.

Kiya, "If the files are there Steam doesn't download them again, it just checks them - should only take a few mins. "
I see what you mean, but i doubt he would check the files with 128 kB/s...
Looks clearly as if he downloads them.
Well, i wrote a support ticket. Not the first time this happens to me and i see similar threads in this forum. So it should be a known bug. Or annoying feature.

Thank you for responding, but just to let you know - it doesnt. It's at 3 GB now, which is not only the 200 missing MB.
I ll probably have to download it again.
Let's see how long it takes valve to respond to my ticket...
