Did I get Portal 1 for free?

Yesterday I was looking In the store at the Portal page and It said I already had this game. I download it and saw It was the full game. Any reason why It's on my account as I swear I havent brought and and I'm pretty sure nobody brought It for me. Thoughts? and has this eevr happened to you?

Ohh and I checked my history and they only mention of Portal on my account Is Portal First Slice.

Portal 1 has been given for free a couple of times now, I think. When the Mac port launched, and when they were starting their "Steam for Schools" push, if the all-knowing Wiki is right. Just logging in and clicking on the right page was enough to give it to you for free.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people got it "accidentally" and didn't even know.

Around May 2010 there was a promotion that allowed Steam users to get Portal for free.

To be sure, go into the Steam client and at the top there will be a link for your account. If you click on Account Details it will show a list of all of the licenses that you own on Steam, if "Portal - Complimentary (Opt In)" appears on the list then you got it from that.

I checked that Zoso but the only thing I could find was Portal: First Slice. Strange

For some reason it's saying you have the full game instead of the demo. If you're planning on playing the full game then I would contact Steam Support and ask them to fix this issue.

You could also try buying the game as a gift then adding it to your library. I'm not sure if that would work though.
