Steambackup.exe

I made a few backups of my games but the steambackup.exe that i downloaded is incompatible with my 64 bit system. Is there anyway to fix this so i can restore my backups?

Hm. Found this in a Google-search whilst suffering the exact same problem. Afraid I don't have a solution just yet. This is very annoying. =/

Yeah....I don't know why you downloaded a random steambackup executable when the function is built into Steam itself (and I have my doubts that the no doubt virus/malware laden EXE you downloaded would even properly create/restore backups anyway).

There's a pretty good reason for that, and it's not at all random. Steam/Valve tells you to do that in their help page on how to backup and restore games, including a link to download steambackup.exe:

Steam needs to update that help file. I did the same thing as the OP, failed to run, then continued searching online before eventually getting here. And was not best pleased at how little help I found directly from Valve themselves over the course of my searching...

Even simply linking to this page where it says to download steambackup.exe would be a decent enough hotfix.
