How do I check for a game version?
My Dawn of War 2 is working perfectly, but the Chaos Rising expension is really bug-ridden. Bing searches show me that the bugs I am coming across are from two years ago, were known by the developer, and a patch was forthcoming. Since I couldnt find anything within the last two years, I can only assume the issues HAVE been taken care of. I also can't find any multiplayer matches. I search for a custom game and get 0 results. So either not one single person is playing this (doubtful), or my game client is not the same as the server client (likely). How can I check the individual game client version I have? I have Steam set to "keep it up to date automagically", but I would trust that about as far I can throw my comp.

You know, that would be a nice feature for Steam to have. Version numbers for games.

For the Steam Client, click on Help -> About Steam. That will get you a build number.

That would just give me the Steam version and not the game version though, right?

Yep. That's just the steam client. Version numbers for the games don't appear to be available within the Steam client. You might find them in update notes (NEWS) or within the game itself.

Sadly, the game page is all threads in Russian, for some reason. :\ Oh well, this is why I never get new games, I always wait until they are two years old and cheap, because that way I don't get too mad when they inevitebly don't work.

I know, click your own link. there are 18 threads, about 5 of them in English. the rest are in Russian.

at the main menu for the game in the lower left corner next to game title it says what the current version is- my game is up to date and it's version v 2.6.0.5628.
