Steam is now declared the most worthless sh*t ever made.
Update for today, Steam still is pure S*it.
Steam still is s*it. R-tarded monkeys to say the least.
Therefore I still claim steam to be the crappiest s*it ever made.
Updating drivers seems to have minimized my amount of dc to a maximum of like 1 or 2 dc/game.
My Graphics card drivers was rly outdated anyways.
running ati 6870in crossfire.
Therefor I now claim steam to be pure S*it and continue playing with like "only" 1-2 dc/game
thanks for feedback anyways.
Steam is just S*it.
My Internet connection is 12-24Mbit down and 2Mbit up I think.
Problems tend to come and go, yesterday I played 5 games.
In 4 of those games I got no dc at all. In one game I got dc every round.
My complete system is as follows:
Intel Core I7 920
MB Asus P6T Socket 1366
2x ATI 6870 in crossfire
24GB ram Corsair 6 x 4GB
750W Corsair powersupply
Dunno if that could be of any interest but whatever, there it is.
Can also say that I share this connection with my family and at least one or two usually play other games and has no problems what so ever. They don't play over steam to be mentioned.
And I have no problems with ppl telling that they have the same problem, gives perspective of what kind of extension this problem might have.
Game systems like XBOX and PS3 handle games better, because they are built for games only.
Computers can handle games, but if the game is a massive first person, it will have some lag since computers are not designed just for games.
A modern computer is in any matter way ahead of any console based system in performance.
A console has not all the settings that a computer has since they are sold as a "as is"
Lag is caused by a computer that is not that great and the gamer is setting the performance settings to high. Simple as that.
Or in many cases Internet problems.
My problems can not be tracked to a computer running to slow anyhow.
