Giving up Trying to connect
I have been trying for the past couple of days to connect to Steam, sometimes i get to the login screen and input my username and password then it says something about being offline, most of the time its says Updating and does not move from 0%, i have switched off all firewalls and AV programmes and anything else that could be blocking this, and now giving up, I have even done a full uninstall and fresh reinstall of steam and the same problems still exist.

Does anyone have any possible solutions to this problem if not i will contact Steam support and have a good rant at them as it seems i have wasted money buying games on here when i should have just gone to the shops and bought them.

Windows is up to date, peerblock is not installed and its a security package from my ISP - which i have disabled to try to get this all to work, and i have gone through your suggestion and still nothing, got to the update 0% again then nothing.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam and the security is from talk talk and it is upto date

I'd also agree that start with uninstalling TalkTalk as that thing is pretty horrible in general. If you need something free, MS Security Essentials is decent enough

Sort of same trouble here. All my trouble started after the last update. While must be frustrating do be a custumer helper - trying to help us all - I think Steam must realise it is a problem for us - and hire more people to help us with our problems. This isnt acceptable really.

Thought i would try Steam today, and strangely it work, but since I totally removed Steam and all the content I now have to reinstall my games, no big deal really, just glad I can get them back

Wish I was as lucky as that!! Tried everything you have tried and still no result! Contacted steam"support" and ive just been ignored for nearly a week now. Cant believe the way this company works is legal. By law they are obliged to supply technical support if they are taking peoples money.
